Distributions in matlab

Hi all, I want to generate 100 numbers (-1 , 0 , 1), which follows uniform distribution, in matlab. How can I do it ?? And another question If I would like to generate a normal distribution with mean value 0.5 and variance 4 , is there function ?? Thanks a lot
