501(c)(3) creating jobs for yourself.

My ultimate goal is to create a not for profit animal rescue focusing on exotics (birds, exotic dogs, reptiles, amphibians, eventually primates, exotic cats, and other large mammals) I was wondering if it is possible to create a job for yourself and the ethics of doing so. I don't have enough money...
