Found names with 10k+ exact searches a month

I have found some keywords with 10k+ exact searches a month and the corresponding domain names are still available in all extensions but *.com*. -should I register *.net* version of the same? -which factors (like CPC/competition) should I take into account before spending $$$ on them? Any...
