Duplicate content penalty question
 

Is there any possibility to get Google's duplicate content penalty if I chop my site's long articles (pages) to smaller ones. 1 long page -> 3 short pages. I mean, if Google does index 3 new pages but still leaves the original long page on its index...maybe i'm crazy
