Live Messenger eternally signing in

My Live Messenger is stuck in a constant state of signing in, the green and blue guys keep flashing, but do not sign in. I can't even cancel the signing in. when I close it and re-open it immediately says reconnecting, although I don't have it set to automatically sign in, and when I click cancel,...
